ghostwriting ICF coaches voice capture personal branding

Won't a Ghostwriter Make Me Sound Fake?

The fear of sounding fake through ghostwriting is pointed at the wrong target. What a ghostwriter actually captures for an ICF coach, and why the profile you're already publishing is the fake one.

You already sound like someone else, we just retire that voice.

A good ghostwriter does not invent a voice, they mirror the one you already use when you are holding space and no one is grading you. The fear of sounding fake is the right instinct pointed at the wrong target, because the fake version is the one you are already publishing.

Think about who writes your posts now. It is the version of you that opens LinkedIn at 11pm at night when the guilt finally wins, tightens under the fear of posting something that flops, and reaches for a headline that names a credential and an About section that lists methods.

That ICF PCC or MCC coach sounds nothing like the one your client meets. Carl Rogers named the paradox at the heart of this, “the curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Congruence is why the coaching room works. It is also exactly what the profile is missing.

The presence your client feels in the first two minutes of a discovery call is the voice worth capturing. It is unhurried and it asks the question underneath the question. It does not perform.

A ghostwriter worth hiring sits with your real words, your actual stories, the way you speak when you forget you are being watched, and makes the profile carry that instead of the 11pm at night version.

You are already sounding like someone else on LinkedIn. You sound like a filing cabinet of competencies, and buyers do not hire filing cabinets. We simply retire that voice and let the real one be findable and bookable.
